Marin County is one of the highest-density premium carbon gravel and MTB markets in the country, and its secondary market runs on a calendar most riders don't notice until they have shopped it for a season. The Sea Otter Classic in Monterey (April) is the structural event: it launches new model years, riders clear garage space for new bikes, and a wave of one-to-two-season-old carbon rigs hits Marin shops, swaps, and peer-to-peer listings in the weeks around the event.
